Hey,

I have a writer-y website now.

Unrelated: I also have business cards. This has nothing to do with writing or with the website, but I felt like sharing it because having business cards has always felt like something that can only happen to other people.

Does this make sense? No. Business cards never make sense. It’s ok. Shhhh.

Here’s “Do You,” the best Spoon song we’ll post today.

I am such a sucker for the well-formed, poppy rock song.

I am bad at work/life balance. Spare time feels like it doesn’t last long, and I mostly spend it writing. Feels good to be making things, but disconnected too. Fitting stuff in is hard. I miss my nephew.

He looks familiar, like the deer you almost felled

last winter in the woods, the deer you held
in your crosshairs, but couldn’t shoot because

the trees were ripe with bark. Don’t overthink it,
you said to yourself. A deer wouldn’t

make a decision. A deer would know
what it wanted when it walked into the dusk.

I also recommend Michelle’s poem "Catcall #48" in the new issue of Bodega.

Dalton, you are the nicest. There is nothing weirder/more wonderful than stumbling across my own work on tumblr.

So,

I did get a full time job, and I actually like it. And I am actually still able to be a writer when I have time?

That has a question mark because pop culture has taught me that I can’t have a full time job and do other things ok I HAVE TO CHOOSE WORK OR LIVING

but really life is not like the movies at all

and it’s nice to be able to get myself fancy chocolate sometimes

where did my punctuation go

I am not making sense

I just feel like
